FOUR people, including two minors and two 21-year-old women, were violated and raped over the past weekend as the onslaught of sexual and gender-based violence continues unabated.
According to the weekend crime bulletin, an incident of rape was reported in Maltahohe at an unknown time and dates. It is alleged that two minor victims aged eight and 11 were raped by an unknown suspect. Medical examinations were conducted on the victims and police investigation continues.
In another case, a 21-year-old woman was also raped on Friday, 2 October 2026, at around 23:45. It is alleged that the 21-year-old Namibian female was raped by a Namibian male suspect of unknown age. The victim was taken to Okahandja State Hospital for a rape kit collection and treatment was given. The suspect is still at large. Police investigation continues.
In the fourth case, an incident of rape was also reported in Outjo on Saturday, 03 October 2026 at around 00:00 in the bush between Herero location and 60 location in Etoshapoort Outjo. It is alleged that a 23-year-old female victim, whilst walking home, was approached by three suspects who raped her. Suspects are unknown and not yet arrested. The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical examination. Police investigation continues.
