PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has backed a new strategic partnership between the NNN Foundation, the Queens of the Continent Foundation and the NBA Foundation aimed at using sport to create greater opportunities for young people across Namibia and Africa.
The partnership seeks to advance youth development through sport while creating pathways for greater participation, leadership and opportunity.
The NNN Foundation was represented at the launch by its Chairperson, Ambassador Dr Kaire Mbuende, and Director for Partnerships, Dr Nangula Nelulu Uaandja.

Reflecting on her own experience as a former netball and squash player, Nandi-Ndaitwah highlighted the values sport can instil beyond the playing field, including discipline, teamwork, confidence and a sense of purpose.
She emphasised the role sport can play in Namibia’s broader development agenda and the importance of ensuring that young people have opportunities to participate and develop their potential.
In conversation with former WNBA All-Star and basketball analyst Chiney Ogwumike, the President stressed the need for both girls and boys to have opportunities to participate, grow and see themselves as active contributors to the future of their communities and the continent.
The partnership brings together the three foundations around a shared commitment to harness the power of sport to support youth development and expand opportunities across Namibia and Africa.
