POLICE are investigating two separate attempted murder cases reported in Arandis and Groot-Aub, with both victims sustaining serious injuries and the suspects arrested.
According to the Namibian Police weekend crime report, in Arandis, an attempted murder was reported at a lounge on Saturday, where a Namibian adult male was allegedly assaulted outside the premises by a 25-year-old Namibian male suspect.
The victim allegedly fell to the ground, after which the suspect repeatedly kicked him on the head until he became unconscious.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Arandis State Clinic before being transferred to Swakopmund State Hospital. He was later transferred to a hospital in Walvis Bay in critical condition.
The motive behind the incident is unknown. The suspect is in police custody, and police investigations continue.
In Groot-Aub, an attempted murder was reported on Friday. It is alleged that a 21-year-old male suspect found the victim playing jackpot machines at a bar and started an argument with him.
The suspect allegedly pushed the victim around, resulting in a fight. He then ran outside, returned with a beer bottle and allegedly stabbed the victim on the left side of the neck.
The victim sustained serious open-cut wounds and was transported to Katutura State Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
The suspect is in police custody, and police investigations continue.
