THE Namibian police in the Omusati Region have registered two separate incidents of people taking their own lives on Wednesday.

One of the incidents involved the discovery of the body of 46-year-old Sarafina Shiimi in her room in Oshilulu village, Okahao Constituency.

According to Regional Police Commander Ismael Basson, Shiimi’s body was found hanging from the roof of a shack within her traditional homestead at around 08:00 on Wednesday.

“Preliminary observation revealed no sign of foul play,” Basson said.

Later that same day, at around 18:00, the lifeless body of Enerish Dago Ndeetapo, a 74-year-old resident of Omuthitugonyama village in the Okalongo Constituency, was discovered in his sleeping room.

According to Commissioner Basson, the deceased’s body was found hanging at his home by a neighbour who went looking for him after he failed to answer his calls.

Ndeetapo was allegedly last seen alive at local shebeens late on Tuesday afternoon.
