A DRAMA unfolded at a house in Windhoek’s Soweto suburb on Friday when a man who vowed to commit suicide jumped into his car and deliberately crashed it into his wife’s stationary vehicle.
The incident occurred at around 21:15 following an intense quarrel between the 46-year-old man and his wife. In the process, the man told his wife that he was going to kill himself, but before that, he would bump her car. He then drove his car out of the yard and crashed it into his wife’s car, which was parked outside, before shooting himself on the right side of the head.
The victim was transported to Katutura State Hospital, where he is said to be in a critical condition.
The pistol, an R78 Browning 7.65 mm, was found with one bullet in the chamber.
