A WOMAN was allegedly defrauded of N$15,000 after unknown suspects impersonating police officers contacted her and claimed they had a warrant for her arrest.
According to the Namibian Police weekend crime report, the incident occurred on Friday at a game ranch near Windhoek.
The suspects allegedly called the victim from different phone numbers, claiming to be police officers from Dordabis who were seeking to execute a warrant of arrest against her.
The suspects allegedly demanded money from the victim to have the warrant cancelled. She agreed and transferred N$15,000 to the suspects.
The case is being investigated as fraud and impersonating a police officer.
Police investigations are continuing.
