Omukwaniilwa Nangolo embarks on five-month tour of Ondonga’s 11 districts

THE head of the Ondonga Traditional Authority (OTA), Omukwaniilwa Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo, has launched a five-month outreach programme that will take him to all 11 districts of Ondonga.

The tour began on 18 July and will conclude with a final district visit on 7 November. It will be followed by a mass community gathering at the OTA headquarters on 28 November.

The Ombulu District, headed by Senior Traditional Councillor (STC) Immanuel Shipanga, was the first to host Omukwaniilwa Nangolo on 18 July. The following day, 19 July, he visited the Onalusheshete District of STC Eino Johannes.

On 1 August, the Ondonga monarch visited the Oniiwe District, led by STC Joseph Asino, and on 8 August, he visited the Amuteya District, headed by STC Eddie Amkongo.

The Uukwanambwa District, led by STC Malulu Kambonde, was visited this Saturday, while STC Ester Nepando’s Omulondo District will be visited on 22 August.

Next month, Omukwaniilwa Nangolo will visit the Oniimwandi District of STC Martin Nashandi on 5 September and the Ongula ya Netanga District of STC Fillemon Kauluma on 19 September.

The remaining three districts will host the OTA head as follows:

– 3 October — Oshuushe District of STC Frans Shitungu
– 17 October — Epale District of STC Anneli Sakaria
– 7 November — Ondangwa District of STC John Walenga

Omukwaniilwa Nangolo’s tour will conclude with a gathering of community members from all districts at the OTA headquarters on 28 November.

The visits are aimed at strengthening relations between the traditional authority and communities across Ondonga and addressing local concerns directly.

Ondonga is the second-largest of the eight Aawambo tribes by population and the largest by geographical area. Its territory spans parts of the Oshikoto, Ohangwena and Oshana regions.
