NAMIBIA Wildlife Resorts (NWR) has moved swiftly to repair dangerous exposed electrical fixtures at the Okaukuejo Resort after a video filmed by concerned tourists began circulating widely on social media.
The footage, recorded in the resort’s picnic area, showed exposed electrical power connections that appeared to pose a serious risk to visitors. The video quickly sparked public concern, with many questioning how such a potentially life-threatening hazard could have been left unattended in one of Namibia’s premier tourist destinations.
In a statement issued shortly after the video gained traction, NWR acknowledged the issue and confirmed that its technical team had been dispatched immediately.
“Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) is aware of a video circulating on social media showing exposed electrical power connections along the lawn area of the Okaukuejo Resort’s Picnic Area. Our technical team responded immediately, and repairs are currently underway. We are pleased to confirm that the issue will be fully resolved today,” the organisation said.
NWR also thanked members of the public for drawing attention to the safety concern.
