THE Office of the Auditor-General emerged as the top performer in the implementation of Affirmative Action, securing first place among Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs).
The awards were presented during the recent Africa Public Service Day (APSD) 2026 celebrations held in Swakopmund. The Office of the President and the Ministry of Education were awarded second and third place, respectively, among OMAs that demonstrated the best implementation of Affirmative Action.
The event also recognised top-performing Regional Councils. The Hardap Regional Council was awarded the best-performing Regional Council for the implementation of Affirmative Action, followed by the Ohangwena Regional Council in second place and the Oshikoto Regional Council in third place.
The Office of the Auditor-General was also recognised as a leading institution in the implementation of the Customer Service Charter, sharing first place with the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development. The Ministry of Home Affairs was recognised as the second-best performer in implementing the Customer Service Charter, followed by the Ministry of Defence in third place.
Regional Councils were also acknowledged for their efforts in implementing the Customer Service Charter. The Erongo Regional Council was recognised as the best-performing council in this area, followed by the Oshana Regional Council and the Oshikoto Regional Council.
