JUST five weeks after the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicked off on Thursday, 11 June, the semi-final line-up has been confirmed following a dramatic set of quarter-finals. France will face Spain, while England have set up a blockbuster clash against defending champions Argentina.
Spain booked their place in the last four after edging Belgium 2-1 in Los Angeles, while France defeated Morocco 2-0 in Boston to set up a heavyweight semi-final in Dallas.
In the other half of the draw, England defeated Norway 2-1 after extra time in Miami, thanks to a brace from Jude Bellingham, to advance to the semi-finals.
Argentina also required extra time to overcome Switzerland 3-1 in Kansas City after the Swiss, despite being reduced to 10 men, forced the defending champions beyond the 90 minutes. Julian Alvarez’s strike in extra time and a late goal from Lautaro Martinez secured Argentina’s passage to the last four.
The first semi-final will see France take on Spain at Dallas Stadium on Tuesday, 14 July, with kick-off at 21:00 Namibian time.
England will face Argentina in the second semi-final at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday, 15 July, also kicking off at 21:00 Namibian time.
The losers of the two semi-finals will meet in the third-place play-off at Miami Stadium on Saturday, 18 July, at 23:00 Namibian time.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will be played at New York/New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, 19 July, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 Namibian time.
