WELL-KNOWN Walvis Bay pastor and community figure Pieter “Pietie” Fox Sr. has passed away at the age of 70, prompting an outpouring of tributes from family, fellow church leaders, and members of Namibia’s biking community who remembered him as a devoted man of faith, mentor, and friend.
Fox passed away in Walvis Bay on 9 June 2026. He is survived by his wife, children, including his son Pieter Fox Jr., and grandchildren.
Paying tribute to his father, Pieter Fox Jr. described him as “the best father, the best grandfather, the best husband” and a man who touched many lives through his generosity and faith.
“A man of God with an open hand who changed many lives,” he said.
Fox was widely known in Walvis Bay for his pastoral work and his close involvement with Namibia’s biking community, where he built strong relationships and used his ministry to reach people from all walks of life.
In a tribute shared following his passing, friends and fellow bikers described him as more than a pastor.
“More than a pastor, he was a biker, a brother, and a shepherd with grease on his hands and Jesus in his heart. He showed us that faith has no dress code and that the road to God can be ridden with the throttle open,” the tribute read.
The message also expressed condolences to the Fox family, saying his legacy of freedom, friendship, and faith would continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Another tribute came from Pastor JP Fourie of the Skeleton Coast Bikers Church and Christian Bikers Network Africa, who said Fox’s commitment to God and his passion for people had left a lasting impact on many.
“Since 2012, we have been blessed to know you and walk this journey of faith together. Your heart for God and your passion for people, especially the biking community in Namibia, have left a lasting impact,” Fourie said.
He described Fox as a friend, a brother in Christ, and a faithful servant whose life reflected God’s love and grace.
“Your race is finished, but your legacy of faith will continue to inspire and touch lives. Rest well, Pastor Pietie. Well done, good and faithful servant,” he said.
Fox’s death marks the loss of a respected religious leader whose influence extended beyond the church and into communities across Namibia through his ministry and involvement in the country’s biking fraternity.
