THE Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) has received 624 applications for reconsideration following its decision on the licence application submitted by Starlink Internet Services Namibia (Pty) Ltd, the regulator confirmed on Monday.
“CRAN acknowledges the public interest in this matter and wishes to assure all stakeholders that the reconsideration applications received will be handled through the established legal and regulatory processes,” said CRAN Executive for Communication and Consumer Relations, Mufaro Nesongano.
In a media statement, CRAN said the applications were submitted by members of the public and interested stakeholders after it had previously opened a window for reconsideration, as outlined in its 24 March 2026 announcement. The authority clarified that no reconsideration request was received from Starlink itself.
CRAN said that the reconsideration process forms part of its established regulatory procedures under the Communications Act (No. 8 of 2009), and assured the public that all submissions will be handled in line with the relevant legal framework.
The regulator added that further communication will be issued once the reconsideration process has been concluded.
