THE Judicial Service Commission has announced the appointment of Justice Dr Michael Charles Mtambo as an Acting Judge of the High Court for a period of three years, effective from 1 June 2026.
“Dr Mtambo served as a Judge of the High Court of Malawi from 2007 to 2022, sitting in both the Commercial Division and the Constitutional Court at the Blantyre Registry,” said Elia Shikongo, Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission.
According to Shikongo, Dr Mtambo adjudicated significant commercial and constitutional matters during his judicial tenure, including cases involving corporate insolvency, bankruptcy and constitutional interpretation.
“The Judicial Service Commission extends its congratulations to the appointee and wishes him well in the execution of his onerous task of delivering justice for all,” Shikongo added.
