POLICE have arrested two suspects in separate drug-related incidents in Outjo and Oshakati on Friday after cannabis worth tens of thousands of dollars was seized during a roadblock search and a house search.
According to the police weekend crime report, the first incident in Outjo Soweto, Etoshapoort, a 27-year-old Namibian woman was arrested after police discovered skunk cannabis valued at over N$50,000 in the boot of a VW Polo during a routine roadblock search.
It is alleged that the drugs were intended for delivery by the suspect. She remains in police custody and is expected to appear before the Outjo Magistrate’s Court on charges of dealing in drugs. Police investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident in Oshakati’s Uupindi Location, a 34-year-old Namibian man was arrested after police conducted a search at his residence and allegedly found cannabis in his possession.
He has also been taken into custody, and police investigations into the matter continue.
