THE budget for defence aims to improve security, defence capabilities, and socio-economic development, according to a pledge by Minister Frans Kapofi in the National Assembly.
Defence and Veterans Affairs Minister Frans Kapofi on Monday presented his ministry’s N$7,535,500,000 budget for the 2026/27 financial year. The appropriation, which represents an increase of 0.7% from the previous year, consists of an Operational Budget of N$6,948,000,000 and a Development Budget of N$587,500,000.
Key focus areas include Training and Capacity Building (N$702,169,000); Land Operations (N$3,310,201,000); Airspace Protection (N$432,306,000); Military Health Support (N$105,267,000); Offshore Defence (N$487,202,000); International Deployment (N$128,396,000); Policy Coordination and Support Services (N$2,318,357,000).
