UPDATE: High Court judges of appeal, Philanda Christiaan and Eileen Rakow, have granted bail to six of the persons implicated in the Namcor fraud and corruption case. This is after the accused in the matter appealed against a refusal of bail by the lower Magistrate’s Court. Subsequently, the appellants, which include former Namcor finance executive Jennifer Hamukwaya; former Namcor MD Immanuel Mulunga; businessmen Peter and Malakia Elindi; former Namcor marketing executive Olivia Dunaiski; and another accused, Leo Stefanus, were granted bail. The bail amounts, which varied between N$50 000 and N$20 000, were granted with conditions that the accused report themselves to the Anti-Corruption Commission every Monday and Friday, hand in their travel documents, and not interfere with investigations.
