THE City of Windhoek has announced that water supply will be reinstated in Central Katutura after most residents woke up to empty taps this morning.
Lydia Amutenya, City of Windhoek spokesperson, explained that the water supply disruption is due to a pipe burst that occurred in the early hours of this morning.
“As a result, the water supply from the reservoir to Katutura Central had to be temporarily isolated to allow for repair work, leading to the interruption across the entire area. The necessary repairs have been completed, and the valves have since been reopened. Water supply is currently in the process of being restored and is expected to normalise within the next three hours,” Amutenya said.
She added that the City of Windhoek apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s patience and understanding.
