POLICE are investigating several cases of housebreaking and theft reported in Ongwediva, Olunkono, Brakwater and Oshandubala village over the weekend.
According to the weekend crime report, at Oshandubala village in the Oshakati area, suspects allegedly broke into a house that had been left unoccupied for some time by breaking the burglar bars of a living room window using wooden poles. The suspects reportedly searched the house, found the keys to a Toyota pick-up that was parked in a locked garage, and stole the vehicle along with several household items.
In another case reported in Ongwediva, suspects allegedly broke into a house early on Saturday morning using an unknown object to open a bedroom window. They reportedly stole a cellphone that was charging and two laptops that were in a bag.
In a separate incident at Olunkono on Saturday, unknown suspects allegedly entered a house through an unlocked door and stole jewellery, electrical equipment and shoes.
Meanwhile, in Brakwater near Katutura, suspects allegedly broke into business premises on Saturday and stole a safe and company documents.
Police investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to trace the suspects and recover the stolen property.
