FOUR of the five awaiting-trial inmates who escaped from the police holding cells at Ongwediva on 18 February are back behind bars and have already appeared in court on the additional charge of escaping from lawful custody.
Those rearrested are:
– Erasmus Bravo, initially arrested on assault GBH and domestic violence charges
– Hangula Shindinge Mapadi: housebreaking
– Ngwiilundo Ronny Shimanya: attempted murder, malicious damage to property, housebreaking
– Jesaya Hangula Bishop: rape
The escapee still on the run is Martin Pohamba Kabila, who is facing a rape charge.
Police are requesting public assistance to trace him. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact 081 387 3555 or 081 363 0666, or the nearest police station.
