NAMIBIAN students studying in Nantong, China, recently took part in vibrant Spring Festival celebrations, immersing themselves in traditional Chinese culture alongside fellow international students from South Africa, Pakistan, Laos and Vietnam.
The students participated in folk activities such as dragon dancing and paper-cutting during the 2026 Nantong Spring Festival Folk Parade, gaining first-hand experience of China’s rich cultural heritage.
The parade formed part of a broader Spring Festival programme in Nantong, Jiangsu province, which featured nearly 100 cultural and tourism activities across the city. Events included folk performances, Chinese New Year markets and lantern displays aimed at showcasing intangible cultural heritage.
