A 16-year-old boy, identified as Petrus Kambode, died after being struck by lightning on Friday at Elundu village.
The tragedy follows weather warnings issued this week of increased lightning activity, with the public urged to exercise caution.
According to the weekend crime bulletin, the incident happened at around 17:00, and it is alleged that Kambode died at the scene as a result of a lightning strike while he was looking after cattle and goats.
The deceased was with a 15-year-old Namibian male (survivor), who was transported to Eenhana State Hospital for treatment.
No foul play is suspected, and the deceased’s body was transported to the Eenhana State Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
His next of kin were informed.
