POSTPONED: The Fishrot case has been postponed to 4th February 2026 for the legal aid representation of the companies of Ricardo Gustavo. Two of the accused in the matter, Bernard Esau and Pius Mwatelulo, were, however, absent due to hospitalisation. The lawyer representing Gustavo, Ileni Gebhardt, informed the Court that she has only been appointed to represent Gustavo in his personal capacity. She then applied for a postponement for legal aid for Accused 11, a juristic entity represented by Gustavo. Gebhardt further informed the Court that she had spoken to Brownell Mchenry Uirab, Director of Legal Aid, and that there was some sort of agreement that the matter would be resolved. The matter was then postponed for the explanation of Section 115 rights by the Court for unrepresented accused individuals.
