THE upgrading of the Erago–Mbeyo Road in the Kavango West Region is expected to commence soon.

The Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, recently officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of the construction of the Erago–Mbeyo Road.

According to the Roads Authority (RA), the development will greatly enhance access to essential services for communities in the area. The RA highlighted the project as a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure.

The RA confirmed that the Roads Contractor Company (RCC) has been appointed as the main contractor, while Trinitas Consulting Engineers will supervise the works to ensure full compliance with technical requirements and quality standards.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Nekundi also announced that the Government has made funding available for the continuation of several other major road initiatives, including the Nkurenkuru–Nepara Clinic Road in Kavango West, the Divundu–Muhembo Border Post Road in Kavango East, and the Ndiyona–Djaradjara Road, also in Kavango East.

“These projects reaffirm our Government’s dedication to enhancing mobility, boosting economic growth, and improving the quality of life for all Namibians,” Nekundi added.
