THE Welwitschias are gearing up for their biggest challenge yet as they head to Dubai for the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Final Qualification Tournament, where they will face Belgium, Samoa and Brazil for the last remaining spot at Australia 2027.
Head coach Jacques Burger — a three-time Rugby World Cup veteran — now leads Namibia’s bid to secure an eighth World Cup appearance. The team will need to draw on experience, discipline and national pride as they navigate a demanding round-robin format.
The tournament, scheduled from 8 to 18 November 2025 in the United Arab Emirates, features four teams competing in a single pool, with the side finishing top on competition points earning qualification.
