STEFANUS Tangeni Shali Shiimi, the 19-year-old resident of Oniihwa-B village in the Oshikoto Region who on Monday allegedly murdered his grandparents — Joshua Shiimi (87) and Martha Nangombe (67) — has appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court. Magistrate Nelao Ya France postponed the case to 20 April 2026, and the accused was remanded in custody.
State prosecutor Tony Bock objected to the granting of bail, but the magistrate granted the accused leave to submit a formal bail application and to apply for a legal aid lawyer.
It is alleged that the brutal double homicide occurred on Monday after the police failed to act on the family’s repeated pleas for help.
