Light rainfall recorded in some interior areas, more expected

Staff Reporter

A NUMBER of interior areas have recently experienced light rainfall, and more showers are expected in various parts of the country over the next few days – a welcome relief from the heat that most places have been experiencing.

Otjiwarongo in the Otjozondjupa Region and Rietfontein in the Omaheke Region are among the areas that have recently seen showers.

According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, more rain showers are expected in several interior areas tomorrow, particularly in the central, south-western, and western parts of the country. Windhoek has been highlighted as one of the central areas likely to see showers tomorrow.

However, rainfall is not only anticipated tomorrow, but is also expected to continue throughout the rest of the week. The Namibia Meteorological Services has identified Ondangwa and Rundu as among the places likely to experience showers on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

The rain showers expected this week will be scattered and not widespread, so many parts of the country will still continue to face the relentless heat. According to Namibia Meteorological Services, hot conditions will persist across much of the interior, particularly in the Zambezi and Kavango East regions.
