PRESIDENT Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has emphasised the role of creativity in shaping national identity, inspiring peace, and driving economic growth.
Speaking as keynote speaker at the Cultural and Creative Industry Event hosted by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Namibian Diaspora, Nandi-Ndaitwah drew from Namibia’s liberation history, recalling how songs emerged from moments of struggle. She stressed that milestones such as Namibia’s global leadership in gender equality should likewise be celebrated through music, film, and art.
The President urged Namibian creators, innovators, and international partners to invest in the country’s creative economy, noting that more than 60 locally funded films have already showcased Namibia’s culture, talent, and landscapes on the global stage.
“We are open for investment, and together, we can make Namibia’s creative industry flourish — creating jobs, telling our stories, and shaping a proud future,” Nandi-Ndaitwah said.
