THE Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) has announced that it will carry out the installation and commissioning of a new power line at Kuiseb today.
According to NamWater’s Coastal Business Unit, the infrastructure upgrade forms part of ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of water supply systems in the region.
The utility has cautioned that the commissioning process may result in a temporary reduction in the volume of water delivered to Walvis Bay, due to the nature of the electrical work involved.
NamWater added that technical and operational control measures are being implemented to minimise disruptions and to ensure that water supply levels return to normal as swiftly as possible.
Residents of Walvis Bay are urged to use water sparingly during the upgrade. The corporation has indicated that temporary water restrictions may be introduced to prioritise essential needs and ensure fair distribution.
NamWater has appealed for public understanding and cooperation while the work is being carried out.
