Petrol and Diesel Prices Unchanged

Staff Reporter

THE Ministry of Mines and Energy has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged for August 2025, despite mixed movements in international oil prices.

According to the Ministry, over-recoveries were recorded for all fuel types: 0.46 cents per litre for petrol, 90.62 cents for diesel 50ppm, and 83.86 cents for diesel 10ppm. As a result, fuel prices at Walvis Bay will remain at N$20.37 per litre for petrol, N$19.92 for diesel 50ppm, and N$20.02 for diesel 10ppm.

The Ministry added that during July 2025, petrol prices declined globally due to oversupply and weak demand, while diesel prices rose slightly due to limited supply and steady industrial demand. A stronger Namibian dollar helped cushion the impact of diesel price increases.

The National Energy Fund will absorb an estimated N$24.7 million in under-recoveries to maintain current price levels.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fuel price stability while responding to global and domestic market trends.
