UPDATE: The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) fraud and corruption trial came to a halt after state prosecutor Basson Linlingwe indicated to the court that he was feeling medically unfit to continue with proceedings. While defence lawyers pushed for the proceedings to continue due to the inherently urgent nature of bail hearings, Magistrate Linus Simanzala postponed the matter to Monday, 21 July 2025. The magistrate explained that the reasons submitted to postpone the proceedings are bona fide and that the matter stands down.
