VERERAN politician and former cabinet minister Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana has lauded Omuthiya as a significant hub of opportunity for all.
Iivula-Ithana made the remarks during the official opening of the new MTC Mobile Home in the town.
She highlighted that the improved access to services would not only serve the inhabitants of the Oshikoto Region but would extend its advantages to everyone, including those in surrounding areas.
“The establishment of the MTC Mobile Home significantly brings essential telecommunication services closer to the people,” she said.
She added that this move is expected to drastically reduce the long distances that individuals previously had to travel to access much-needed services, thereby enhancing convenience and accessibility for a wider community.
Further, Iivula-Ithana urged the local authority to start availing land to those willing to bring development to the town, rather than having land being occupied by old vehicles that have been standing on a piece of land for years.
She indicated that they need to move with the pace of development and ensure that people are served.
