ANDIMBA Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School is abuzz with activity as it prepares to host its annual sports tournament from 18–19 July at the school’s sports fields.
During the launch on Wednesday at Ondangwa, the school successfully raised over N$140,000 in kind and monetary donations to ensure the successful hosting of the event.
Classic Sport Betting has been named the main sponsor, contributing medals, trophies, and sporting gear for overall winners across all six sports codes.
School Principal Waardeheim Shapaka confirmed the school’s significant investment, saying that the school has invested a total of N$50,000 in hosting the tournament.
According to Shapaka, they are anticipating about 40 teams of learners to participate in various sports codes, including Senior Soccer, Junior Soccer for Under-15, Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, and Girls’ Soccer.
“We are ready to host the tournament as a school,” he affirmed.
Speaking on behalf of Classic Sport Betting, Angelina Immanuel indicated that the partnership is more than a sponsorship — it’s a commitment.
“A commitment to empower athletes, energise events, and invest in the future of Namibian sport and culture,” she added.
She said that as Classic Sport Betting, they are not just spectators but partners in every goal scored, every race won, and every moment that brings pride to the people.
Sports organiser Job Amakali explained that the tournament is hosted annually with the primary purpose of creating a platform for all learners to showcase their talent.
“This also allows our learners to build bonds with other learners through mingling and learning from each other,” he added.
Amakali also said that the overall aim of the tournament is to raise funds for the school’s developmental needs.
