Eleven teenagers on the loose after escaping from Oluno Prison

SEVEN accused rapists are among the eleven inmates who escaped from the Oluno Correctional Services facility in the Oshana Region on Monday.
Of the eleven escapees — aged between 14 and 17 — seven face rape charges, while four were apprehended for housebreaking.

The mass escape from lawful custody comes a few weeks after the Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) held a graduation ceremony at Omaruru for close to 300 correctional officers.

The Namibian Police are urging members of the public to immediately report their whereabouts to the nearest police precinct or to contact the following emergency numbers:

  • Oshakati: 0813630666

The eleven escapees are:

  • Ndilishange Teofelus, a 14-year-old from Ongolongolo village in the Onkumbula area of Oshikoto, who was arrested for rape last year.
  • Waripi Mateus, a 16-year-old Angolan national arrested for rape in 2022.
  • Abraham Johannes Angula (16), from Omutsegwonime village, Oshikoto Region, arrested last year on a housebreaking charge.
  • Keshongo Immanuel (17), an Angolan male arrested for rape in the Oshikoto Region in 2023.
  • Ngula Joao Panduleni (15), an Angolan male arrested for rape in Oshikoto last year.
  • Nakale Max Ishuna (14), from Onayena, Oshikoto Region, arrested for rape in 2023.
  • Hendricks Seun Usher (16), from Lüderitz, arrested for housebreaking in the Oshikoto Region in 2023.
  • Shipanga Teodor (17), from Akuna near Ondangwa, arrested for housebreaking and livestock theft in 2022.
  • Kavela Oscar (17), an Angolan male arrested for rape in the Oshikoto Region last year.
  • Shitongeni Nghitumbulwa (17), an Angolan male arrested for rape in Oshikoto last year.
  • Kakwena Salom Nangula (17), from Oshitayi village near Ondangwa, arrested for housebreaking last year.
