NamWater warns public against fake job recruitment scam

Staff Reporter

THE Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) has issued a warning to the public regarding a fraudulent online recruitment scheme that is falsely using the company’s name to advertise fake job opportunities.

According to NamWater, the scam is circulating under the headline “NAMWATER LTD 2025 Recruitment” and claims that the utility has opened an online portal to hire new staff for various positions. The deceptive message also includes a link to a suspicious website and instructs applicants to share the link on WhatsApp as part of the application process.

NamWater has strongly denied any involvement with the scheme, stating that it does not use third-party platforms or social media sharing requirements for recruitment purposes.

“NamWater would never ask job seekers to share application links on WhatsApp or other social media platforms,” the company said in a statement. “All official vacancies are advertised only through our official website: https://namwater.erecruit.co/.”

The corporation urged the public to remain cautious and not to provide personal information or make payments to anyone claiming to represent NamWater outside official channels.

For verification or recruitment-related enquiries, the public is encouraged to contact NamWater’s Employee Services at +264 61 71 0000.

NamWater reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its operations and called on the public to report any suspicious activity involving misuse of its name or branding.
