THE Namibia Medicines Regulatory Council (NMRC) has issued a directive to Fabupharm Namibia (Pty) Ltd to immediately halt the production and manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, as well as all other products that require a valid manufacturing license.
“Fabupharm Namibia (Pty) Ltd as a pharmaceutical manufacturing company has been in breach of Regulation 35 of the Medicines and Related Substance Control Act 13 of 2003. Fabupharm Namibia (Pty) Ltd has been manufacturing medicines without a valid licence since January 2024,” Fransina Nambahu, the Registrar of Medicines at the NMRC, said.
The pharmaceutical manufacturing company is thus urged to suspend all production activities with immediate effect.
“This instruction will remain in force until Fabupharm is compliant. We remain committed to ensuring the health and safety of the Namibian nation,” Nambahu added.
