THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has announced the arrest of an employee of the Zambezi Town Council who allegedly defrauded the government of N$4 million in relation to the delivery of drought relief food.
Josefina Nghituwamata, Chief Public Relations Officer within the ACC, said the arrest was carried out on 14 May 2025 in the afternoon.

“The Anti-Corruption Commission arrested an employee of the Zambezi Regional Council and two accomplices in connection with a drought relief food supply scheme. It is alleged that the regional council staff member conspired with the two private individuals to defraud the government, leading to it disbursing over N$4 million for drought relief food supplies that were never delivered,” Nghituwamata said.
She added that further details about the case will be released at a later stage.
