Dr John Steytler resigns as CEO of DBN

The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr John Steytler, with immediate effect.

DBN revealed that Dr Steytler has decided to step down from his position to pursue new interests and opportunities. The bank added that the DBN Board will begin the recruitment process for a permanent CEO immediately. In the meantime, John Mbango, Head of Coverage and Large Transactions, will serve as interim CEO until further notice.

“Dr. Steytler has served as CEO since September 2023 and has made a marked impact on the Bank. We thank him for his service and dedication and wish him well in his future endeavours,” Evangelina Nailenge, Chairperson of the Board, said.

The DBN Board also expressed their gratitude for the leadership and commitment Dr Steytler demonstrated throughout his time at the Bank.

“The Development Bank of Namibia will continue fulfilling its mandate and serving its clients with the singular aim of contributing to Namibia’s developmental agenda and socioeconomic growth,” the bank added.
