THE Namibian police in the Oshana Region are investigating a case of murder after the decomposed body of a newborn baby girl was discovered in a dustbin at Ongwediva on Sunday afternoon.
The body was found in a municipal dustbin near the Junior Self Catering Apartment on Jackson Kakwambi Street.
It is alleged that the body was discovered by students of Gabriel Taapopi Senior Secondary School who were passing by and sneaked a peek into the dustbin.
“A man who was standing nearby overheard them talking about a ‘dead baby,’ attracting his attention. He moved closer, and the students showed him the naked body in a decomposed state. Her mouth and nose were sealed with sellotape,” said the police, who are now seeking public assistance to trace the murderer.
