Public servants celebrate DSA rate review

Maria David

EXECUTIVE Director in the Office of the Prime Minister, I-Ben N. Nashandi, has announced a long-awaited review of the Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA), commonly known as S&T.

Nashandi made the announcement during the official opening ceremony of the OPM Annual Planning Workshop, currently underway in Swakopmund.

The workshop, which started on Monday, is expected to conclude on Friday.

“A wave of optimism swept through our Annual Planning Workshop that is currently underway. We must bring about the change needed and transform the way the government responds speedily to the needs of our people,” Nashandi told Informanté upon inquiry.

According to Nashandi, the new rates will take effect on 1 April 2025.

He emphasized that the review reflects a recognition of public servants’ dedication and hard work.

He explained that the reviewed DSA rates serve as both a morale boost and a call to action, as the nation prepares to accelerate its journey towards long-term development objectives.

However, he also stressed the importance of embracing innovation and technology to enhance efficiency and contribute to the nation’s development goals.

“We must work smart,” he urged, “to support the incoming government in achieving its mandate and manifesto, aligning with the aspirations of NDP6 and the realization of Vision 2030.”

He said that they must continue improving teamwork and remain focused on their objectives.

Nashandi then urged all staff members to utilize their team’s skills effectively and maintain strong collaboration, primarily through regular working sessions.
