WHILE several areas across the country are expected to experience rain showers in the coming days, the heaviest and most persistent storms are once again anticipated for the North.
According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, the northern parts of the country will continue to experience substantial showers this week. The Namibia Meteorological Services has identified Rundu and Ondangwa as some of the northern locations likely to see more showers. However, the rainfall in the north is expected to be widespread, with the heaviest storms predicted to affect the north-central regions. These showers are anticipated to intensify from Tuesday night onwards.

The Namibia Meteorological Services has therefore issued a warning for potential flash floods in the north, urging the public to exercise caution.
The North has already faced exceptionally heavy rainfall last week, leading to significant flooding in some areas. Tsumeb, in the Oshikoto Region, is one such area where recent downpours flooded parts of the town, including the Tsumeb Lombard State Hospital, and also caused damage to property, including the town’s electrical poles.
More showers, although likely not as heavy, are also expected in some central and southern areas this week. The Namibia Meteorological Services has highlighted Windhoek as one of the places likely to experience rain showers on Tuesday and Wednesday, while Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region is expected to receive rain showers on Tuesday.
