THE Namibian police at Nkurenkuru, Kavango West, are investigating a case of fraud after a 66-year-old female resident of Nyege village was defrauded of her money by an imposter on Friday morning.
It is alleged that an unknown suspect, pretending to be a bank employee, asked the victim to provide her banking details, and in the process, a cash amount of N$5,400 was stolen from her account.
No arrest or recovery has been made yet.
Several incidents have recently been reported to the police in which bank account holders were defrauded by individuals pretending to be bank employees or police officers.
