Bones of missing woman found on outskirts of Otjimbingwe

HUMAN remains, suspected to belong to a woman who has been missing since August 2024, were discovered at Dawe Tsaub Farm on the outskirts of Otjimbingwe.

According to Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba, the human bones were unearthed on Saturday, 25 January 2025, at around 10:00.

“A report was received from the owner of the aforementioned farm that while searching for his cattle around the farm in the river, he discovered human remains (bones). He immediately alerted the police. The police officers at Otjimbingwe attended to the scene and found the remains (upper body parts) suspected to be those of a person who was reported missing on 10 August 2024. The team confirmed that they were indeed human remains (bones) consisting of the backbone, ribs, and a skull,” Shapumba said.

He added that the body was identified by a family member as that of the missing Katrina Paulina Boois. However, the police will conduct forensic investigations to confirm the details.

The cause of death is yet to be determined through forensic examination. The next of kin have been informed.
