THE Namibian police at Eenhana in the Ohangwena Region are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 44-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and seriously wounded by a suspect armed with a traditional bow and arrow.
The incident occurred in the Eexwa village on Friday evening.
According to the police, the suspect shot an arrow that struck the victim in the stomach, where it remained lodged.
The victim was transported to the Eenhana District Hospital in critical condition and was later transferred to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital for further treatment.
The motive for the attack is not yet known.
The 32-year-old suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Eenhana Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
