Employees expected to return to work with marked fingers

VOTING is a fundamental right, but for many workers, the logistics of casting a ballot can pose a significant challenge.

Work hours often overlap with election times, creating barriers for those who wish to participate in the democratic process.

To address this, employees of Kambwa Trading Company were given the day off to vote. However, they are expected to return to work with marked fingers as proof that they indeed exercised their right to vote.

According to a memo issued by David Kambwa, he reminded employees that Wednesday was a special holiday that occurs only once every five years.

“As such, our workforce is authorized to go out and exercise their democratic right by voting for the next President and the new members of Parliament,” he said.

In closing, Kambwa emphasized that while the company would remain closed for the day, he expects all employees to report to work on Thursday with the ink mark on their fingers as evidence that they participated in the elections.
