PETROFUND appoints Shoki Kandjimi as Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer

THE Petroleum Training and Education Fund (PETROFUND) has announced the appointment of Shoki Kandjimi as the head of its Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Office, effective 1 November 2024.

“This newly established role highlights PETROFUND’s commitment to strengthening its communications efforts and further cementing stakeholder relations within the energy industry, especially as Namibia prepares for the imminent development of its oil and gas discoveries,” PETROFUND’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nillian Mulemi, said.

Mulemi pointed out that Kandjimi brings a wealth of experience in communications, public relations, and stakeholder engagement, making him well suited for this important role. She highlighted his previous experience with organisations such as the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), and Poiyah Media.

“He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Technology and a Bachelor of Communications Honours and is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Management at NUST. His appointment marks a significant milestone for PETROFUND as he will be the first to oversee and manage this critical function,” Mulemi revealed.

She explained that Kandjimi will be responsible for advancing PETROFUND’s communications strategy, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring transparency and effective engagement with stakeholders within the oil and gas sector and the public.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Kandjimi to the PETROFUND team. His extensive expertise and fresh vision align perfectly with our goals of strengthening communication and stakeholder relations. His role is further essential in supporting our vision, which is to be the leading organisation building capacity for the upstream petroleum industry in Namibia,” Mulemi added.
