FOUR Chinese nationals were held at gunpoint in Usakos and robbed of money and items valued at over N$300,000.00.
According to Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba of the Erongo police, the incident occurred on Thursday, 31 October 2024, around 02:00 at a house at 221 Rogan Street, Bo Dorp, Usakos.
“It was alleged that about four suspects broke into the house, assaulted the occupants (four Chinese nationals) with iron bars, threatened them with a pistol, and took property without their consent,” Shapumba said.
The stolen items include five iPhones, each worth N$32,000.00, cash totaling N$60,000.00, USD 3,000.00, and a gas pistol.
To date, the police have recovered four iPhones and arrested one male suspect, a 38-year-old resident of Windhoek.
The other three suspects remain at large, and the police are actively investigating the matter.
The victims have been identified as Chinese businessmen.
