EMBODYING NAMIBIA: The Miss Namibia Organization today unveiled the national costume of the current reigning Miss Namibia, Prisca Anyolo (28), who will represent the country at the 73rd Miss Universe event, which will take place in early November in Mexico. The outfit, designed by Mwatile Kapolola, embodies the desert mirage, as the dress is inspired by Sandwich Harbour—the only place where the desert meets the ocean—while also encapsulating the natural resources the country is endowed with. The Director General of the National Broadcasting Corporation, Stanley Similo, explained that the national costume speaks of Namibian culture and nationhood. “When Prisca is out there, everyone who sees her will say, ‘This is Namibia.’ It also shows the pride of Namibia; although we are a small country, we stand tall among many nations,” Similo said.
