THE Namibian police are seeking public assistance in tracing four men who stabbed a 19-year-old boy after demanding marijuana from him.
According to the weekend crime report, the murder happened in Otjiwarongo on 7 October 2024 at around 20:29 in Extension 6, near Uppi’s Guest House.
Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi of the Namibian police said that Brave Mbitjita Nangula (the deceased) and his three friends were on their way home from extra classes when they were stopped by four unidentified suspects who demanded marijuana (dagga) from them. When they did not have any, the suspects forcefully body-searched them.
“One of the victims surrendered his cellphone, and the four friends ran in different directions, with the suspects pursuing them until they caught up with the deceased and stabbed him on the left side of his neck. As a result, he succumbed to the injury at the scene. The deceased was certified dead at the scene by an MVA Advanced Life Support Paramedic. The next of kin have been informed. The suspects in this matter are unknown. Therefore, the Namibian Police Force is appealing to anyone who might have information to kindly contact Deputy Commissioner Edna Nawa at 081 722 1064 or Detective Chief Inspector Hofney Reuter at 081 272 2687,” Shikwambi said.
