The prestigious Trustco All Africa Senior Squash Championship will take place in Namibia’s capital from November 18 to 24, bringing together Africa’s top squash talent. This marks the first time since 2013 that Namibia will host the event.
National coach Andrew Forrest expressed his excitement: “This championship brings together the best players on the continent. It’s an honour to host such a high-level event in Namibia, and it’s particularly beneficial for our junior players to gain exposure to top-tier competition.”
The competition will begin with a dynamic team event, followed by intense individual play-offs.
Trustco Group Holdings has committed N$80,000 to the Namibia Squash Association (NSA) to support this major continental event. Neville Basson, Head of Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Trustco, highlighted the company’s long-standing partnership with squash, attributing it to the sport’s strong management and promising future in Namibia.
The championship will offer valuable PSA ranking points, with the Regional Championships distributing points similar to a Challenger 15 event:
• Winner: 300 points • Runner-up: 195 points • 3rd and 4th places: 120 points
The Namibian men’s team will feature Max Endjala, Brandon Grane, Le-Hugo van Rooyen, and Christoff Knoetze, with reserves Norbert Dorgeloh, Trevor Grane, and Steven Berry. The women’s team will include Adri Lambert, Charne Fourie, Lientjie Koekemoer, and Zanti Jansen, with reserves Chantell de Gouveia and Jacky Steenkamp. Andrew Forrest will serve as the national coach.
