OSHANA Swapo coordinator, Werner Iita, said that they have recruited more than 10,000 new members this year alone in the Oshana Region.
Iita revealed this during a star rally held at Oshakati Independence Stadium on Saturday, revealing that they clustered their mini rallies from two to three branches.
According to Iita, they have held 124 mini rallies across the region, and they expect to welcome 50 people who have come from opposition parties.
“Our campaign strategies have slightly changed into door-to-door and small group campaigning, where we embrace comments and questions,” he said.
He added that they are optimistic that the Swapo party in Oshana and nationally will win with more than 90%.
Iita stressed that the same components affecting the Namibian nation and the world at large are exactly the same, since the region is not operating in isolation.
He indicated that drought, unemployment, and concomitant decreases in economic activity are challenges they face. However, the region remains optimistic about the envisaged economic growth and the increase in GDP over time, particularly attributed to the discovery of oil, gas, and other vital natural resources in the country.
